On October 13th, 2016, thursday, at 8pm, at Pensão Amor was held the launch of the book A Cidade Não Adormece. Edited by the research group Sustenta - Laboratory for Sustainable Design, it was presented by Fernando Moreira da Silva, professor of Design at the Faculty of Architecture and president of the Research Centre for Architecture, Urbanism and Design (CIAUD).

 

This release came as a result of the international seminar of the same name, held on October 14th and 15th, 2015, within the project "Architecture After Hours" (CIAUD) under the coordination of Professor José Gorjão Jorge. This research project, begun in 2012, aims to study the different forms of appropriation of urban space during the night, according to the processes of human meaning in their cultural and social expressions, to determine the typological conditions that night uses imposes on the scale and structure of urban design, especially at an institutional and symbolic level.
