The intervention conditions within the scope of Architecture have changed radically, implied by the transformations of the contemporary world: it becomes evident in the appreciation of the entire projective result, that Ecology and its concomitant idea of sustainability complete the framework of its essential criteria.

Thus, in light of the present circumstances, we've come to understand that it's imperative to broaden the concept of ecology, as a study of the interaction between the various systems that support life on the planet and the environment, to all spheres of human activity and, with renewed relevance , to the constructive activity of which Architecture – here linked to the scope of Conservation, Restoration and Rehabilitation – becomes only a classifiable practical aspect.
